Last week I met up with Harold van der Bel and Nosa Ketting in The Hague. After we met at Spui we decided to go to this red bank structure that Billy Hogendijk bs backfootflips in his Daily Business part, a spot we never got to. We walked past some spots, found some ‘new’ ones, but nothing seemed to work out to shoot some photos. As we were near the newly opened skatepark Sweatshop we decided to drop in there. It was my first time visiting the park and I have to say I’m impressed. Even though the park skates like a two way lane (as a result from the shape of the hall the park is built in) there are a ton of real street obstacles: there are two perfect marble benches, a wheelie pad with a tile service and the same tiles are used for a bump to bump. During the winter this will give you your fix of real skateboard surfaces/materials. For those who were bumped that the original ‘witte ledge’ spot was only skateable with either your backside or frontside approach, they made a real concrete replica of the spot but approachable from the other side.

Besides a simulation of real street obstacles there are your standard obstacles, like a euro gap, and some less standard like the grindable bank after the wembley gap. The two mini ramp constructions are either small and fun or big and fast so there is something for every type of skater to be found here.
